Constance Hunter is one of the world's top business economists and the Chief Global Economist for the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU). An expert in macroeconomic analysis, she is renowned for her ability to forecast pivotal market shifts and shape strategic decision-making for businesses and governments. Her data-driven mindset and deep economic insights have accurately predicted major events, such as the 2008 financial crisis, the economic disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the soft landing of inflation in 2023. She has long advised governmental statistical agencies, central banks, and companies on matters of the economy.
Prior to joining the EIU, she was Executive Vice President, Global Head of Strategy & ESG for AIG, and subsequently for AIG's Life and Retirement subsidiary, Corebridge Financial. Before that, at AIG, she was the Chief Economist at KPMG, where her leadership in macroeconomic forecasting and analytics influenced corporate strategies for Fortune 500 companies and global investors. She previously served as Deputy Chief Investment Officer at AXA Investment Managers.
