Leading major change processes in global organizations and leadership development initiatives around the world
Dr Williams is one of the world's leading authorities on leadership and change, in businesses, in government and in social enterprises. He tackles the fractious world in which we operate and gets senior management teams to understand what it takes to truly be a global change agent. One thing it takes is a fresh mindset, to break free from our natural 'tribal' instincts and to cross the various boundaries we face, or indeed to bust boundaries, transcend boundaries and build bridges between these boundaries. Originally from Australia, Dean Williams in based in Singapore and Boston. He has a part-time teaching role with Harvard University and spends the rest of his time speaking and consulting around the world. Dean has been a faculty member at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government since 1999 and has been a visiting professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore.
At Harvard Kennedy School, he teaches and conducts research on adaptive leadership and change. As a faculty member, he is based at the Center for Public Leadership. He serves as the faculty chair of the executive education program: Global Change Agents: leading with commitment, creativity and courage. He also runs the World Leaders Project at the Center for Public Leadership.
He is the author of Leadership for a Fractured World: How to Cross Boundaries, Build Bridges, and Lead Change, and author of Real Leadership: Helping People and Organizations Face Their Toughest Challenges. He is a contributor to various international publications and a regular blogger. Over the years, Dean has also interviewed a number of world leaders including former Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew, former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown, former Prime Minister of Australia, former President of the Philippines, Fidel Ramos and many others.
Dean speaks at senior global executive meetings for a number of multinational companies.
