Dr Eid-Oakden is a leading commentator on economic, political, social and business developments in the Middle East. She is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Economist at Arabia Monitor, an independent, London-based research firm specializing in economic and market intelligence on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, publishing the monthly Arabia Monitor, country reports, regional updates and special features. She provides analysis and advice about the underlying drivers of the region, helping international executives grasp the opportunities and challenges the region faces, and helping raise an understanding which is crucial for businesses to build and execute their MENA strategy.

As publisher of Arab Monitor, she has written various monthly or quarterly reports and newsletters pertaining to political and economic developments in the Middle East and North Africa. She is interviews and quoted in global media including Bloomberg, Arab Business and others. Dr. Florence Eid-Oakden's keynote addresses deliver powerful messages to enable audiences to act on medium- to long-term trends shaping the MENA region. Sample presentations;

She is based in London and Amman (where her husband serves as the British Ambassador to Jordon). Since 2009 she has been the CEO & Chief Economist of Arabia Monitor and was previously Head of MENA Economics and Strategy at JP Morgan. She is on the Board of Directors for the Arab Banking Corporation International. She is a Trustee of the American University in Paris and Patron of the Contemporary Arts Society in London. She sits on the Advisory Board of the Alfaisal University College of Business, Saudi Arabia, and has been a Professor of Economics and Finance at the American University of Beirut as well as a visiting professor at INSEAD and HEC Paris.

Florence was born in Lebanon and was educated in Saudi Arabia. She holds a PhD in Organization Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
