Lisa Oake is a seasoned broadcasting professional with over 16 years of experience, and who has hosted a range of financial markets and business programmes. Since joining CNBC in 1998, Lisa has hosted many programs and was co-anchor of the network’s top-rated flagship morning program Squawk Box.  Her experience conducting live interviews translates into lively and thought-provoking panel discussions.  She is known for asking tough questions so conference attendees feel they have been exposed to fresh perspectives and ideas. Lisa has interviewed numerous CEOs, central bank governors and heads of state including Indonesia’s Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Thailand’s Abhisit Vejjajiva, New Zealand’s Helen Clarke and Canada’s Kim Campbell.

Lisa has a very strong understanding of financial and investment topics with the skills, experience and personality to handle discussions at a senior level across many economic, political, business and management topics. She has moderated discussions on everything from the global economy & finance to talent wars & women’s issues.  Specifically, she has been involved in a number of CNBC events including moderating the Business Leaders’ Awards has moderated conferences for some of the biggest companies in the world including Standard Chartered Bank & Morgan Stanley. She regularly conducts live-on-stage, in-conversation style interviews with speakers.

Lisa was named Best Media Trainer at the 2017 Asia Training and Development Excellence Awards. She is also a recipient of the Canadian Radio Television News Directors Foundation’s Eric Murray award for investigative journalism and CNBC’s special achievement award for journalistic excellence.

She is CEO & Founder of Oake Media - a boutique coaching firm that specialises in teaching executives and broadcast journalists how to deliver compelling, on-air performances as well as a Crisis Communications consultant who helps companies develop operating procedures for dealing with unexpected scenarios.

Born and raised in Canada, she has a degree in Political Science from the Memorial University of Newfoundland (1995) and a Master of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Western Ontario (1996). She completed her certification in Leadership in Crises Executive Education Program at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2018.
