Ms Woodall is a Senior Editor and former Asia Economics Editor with The Economist and is recognised as one of the world’s most outstanding journalists on economics.

Pam is now based in the UK after a number of years in Hong Kong and is still a frequent visitor to the Asia region.  Her career as a journalist started in the UK based in London, most notably being for 13 years The Economist's Global Economics Editor before taking up the role as Asia Economics Editor.  During her work, she has been a regular visitor to the US, Europe and Asia. She writes chiefly on international economics, Asian economies, European economies, the rise of China and other emerging economies, asset-price bubbles and exchange rates. She is famously the inventor of The Economist's "Big Mac Index".

She was the author of The Economist's widely-respected annual survey on the World Economy and writes economic leaders for the newspaper also contributes to The World in magazine.

Ms Woodall has been lauded for excellence in journalism; she jointly-won the 2006 Wincott Foundation award for "senior financial journalist of the year", won "best economics journalist" of 2006 at the Business Journalist of the Year awards and won the 2005 Rybczynski Prize, awarded by the Society of Business Economists. She is interviewed regularly on international radio and television including BBC and CNN among many others and is often sought after for interviews in the international press.

Her unrivalled understanding of macroeconomics enables her to identify and anticipate key developments that will likely impact strategic business decisions for organisations operating globally. Her coverage spans all industry sectors but she has paid particular attention to global real estate economics.

Pam regularly conducts confidential personal briefings to global Chief Executives and is frequently invited as a guest speaker at special client functions. She delivers keynote addresses at international regional business summits around the world including the World Economic Forum DAVOS meeting each year. Pam is outspoken and relishes occasions to debate issues.
