Teymoor is an international journalist and TV news anchor with 25 years of experience. He has lived and worked in London, New York, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Doha and is now based in Singapore. Over this time, he has devised, edited, written, produced and presented news and current affairs programming for Al Jazeera, BBC, CNBC, CNN and Channel 4 and Channel News Asia. He was currently the host and executive producer of two Channel News Asia programmes; Between The Lines, a nightly current affairs discussion focusing on issues relevant to Asia, and Perspectives, a regular series of panel debates recorded before a live audience in Singapore. He now freelances on producing programmes and chairs international forums.
The major stories he has covered include the 9/11 attack from New York City, the Asian tsunami disaster from Sri Lanka; the Iran Presidential election of 2009 from Tehran, the 2008 Olympics from Beijing and the earthquake/tsunami of 2011 from Japan. He has interviewed numerous world leaders and newsmakers, among them former Prime Ministers of Malaysia, Dr Mohammad Mahathir, Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong, the current and former Secretary Generals of the United Nations, Ban Ki Moon and Kofi Annan, the former head of the European Central Bank Jean-Claude Trichet, and other international personalities including David Beckham.
Teymoor was voted 'Best Presenter/Anchor' at the 2005 Asia Television Awards and shared a UK Royal Television Society Award for coverage of the Olympic bribery scandal in Utah.
He is based in Singapore.
